This chocolate sauce isn't going to be your super thick hot fudge, but it will be a delicious addition to your ice cream sundae or bowl of strawberries. It's great too because you can use Piment d'Ville or Comapeño to reach your desired spice level.
Ingredients
-
4 oz bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
-
1/2 cup water
-
1/2 cup sugar
-
1 Tbsp Piment d’Ville or 1 tsp Comapeño chile powder
-
1/3 cup butter, cut into small pieces
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
In a small, heavy bottomed saucepan, gently heat water and chocolate over low heat until the chocolate is fully melted.
Add sugar and Piment d’Ville and mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
Add butter and vanilla and stir until fully incorporated.
Serve over warm ice cream, cake, fresh strawberries or just eat by the spoonful.
