Ingredients
-
1 ⅓ cup sugar
-
⅔ cup cocoa powder
-
1 Tablespoon of Piment d’Ville
-
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
-
Dash of ground black pepper
Directions
To make hot chocolate mix, dump all ingredients into a medium bowl. Mix well to ensure that all ingredients have been fully incorporated and distributed. Pour mix into a jar and seal tightly.
For each mug of hot chocolate, you’ll need one heaping tablespoon of the hot chocolate mix along with the liquid of your choice. This could be milk, non-dairy milk, or a milk/water ratio of your choice, depending on how rich you like it. I like to fill up my mug with milk and then pour that into a small pot to make sure I have the right amount as all mugs are different sizes! Warm your liquid on the stove but don’t boil it. Remove from heat. Add 1 heaping tablespoon of the hot chocolate mix to your mug and about ⅓ of your liquid. Mix together well. Add the rest of the liquid and mix again. Add a dash of Piment d’Ville on top to garnish.
